Query your Caplena feedback data directly from Microsoft 365 Copilot using the Model Context Protocol (MCP).
Connecting custom MCP servers requires a Microsoft 365 Copilot license. The free version of Microsoft Copilot does not support connecting custom MCP servers.

Before You Start

  • You have a Caplena account.
  • At least one project is set to Live.
  • You have a Microsoft 365 Copilot license.
Only projects set to Live are accessible through the Insight Agent.

Step 1: Enable the Insight Agent in Caplena

  1. Go to Settings → Integrations.
  2. Enable Insight Agent (MCP).
  3. Copy the generated MCP URL
    (e.g., https://api.caplena.com/v2/outbound-connectors/mcp).

Step 2: Open Microsoft 365 Copilot

  1. Go to https://copilot.microsoft.com.
  2. Open Settings from your profile menu.
  3. Select Plugins → Model Context Protocol (MCP).
  4. Choose Add MCP server.
Some organizations label this as Add app — both lead to the MCP configuration panel.

Step 3: Connect Caplena

  1. Paste the MCP URL copied from Caplena.
  2. Microsoft Copilot will automatically discover:
    • OAuth issuer
    • Authorization endpoint
    • Token endpoint
    • Registration endpoint
    • Supported scopes
  3. You will be redirected to Caplena.
  4. Sign in and Authorize access.
  5. You will return to Copilot with the connection active.

Step 4: Start Asking Questions

You can now ask Microsoft 365 Copilot:
  • List the Caplena projects I can access.
  • Summarize the latest customer feedback.
  • What are the most common themes in our survey?
  • Compare the latest wave with the previous quarter.
Copilot will use Caplena’s MCP tools behind the scenes to fetch and analyze your data.
